350-500gms fruit
180gms white sugar
79 cl plain gin
3 bay leaves
3 cloves
10 whole peppercorns
Cinnamon stick

Not a bad stop for a morning cuppa!
Hedges on Twitter Lane now neatly trimmed, although thankfully, those in the fields remain long and lush, and it promises to be a bumper harvest for fruit. We’ve never seen so many blackberries - and the sloes and wild damson are coming on nicely! No doubt the farmers will repair, lay and patch where needed.
Thanks guys - the hedgrows are one of the reasons our wildlife here is so lush! 💕

The saddest post from us today! 🦔😢 - but one worth sharing if it saves just one of these beautiful creatures.
A lady called at the shop yesterday after she found a small hog out on a lane in daylight and remembered that we worked with local hedgehog rescue and rehabilitation.
Below is her message to us this morning. Please, PLEASE, think when using strimmers. It only takes you a cpl of minutes to check the area for hedgehogs and save a little life.
THINK BEFORE YOU STRIM.
“Hi there - I’m the random hedgehog lady from yesterday 😁. Thank you so much for your help and I took the little hedgehog over to Charlie in Oswaldtwistle. So sad to tell you he had to be put to sleep as he had been injured by a strimmer. I’m glad though that he was able to go quickly and gently. Thanks again for your help and kindness x”
