As big fans of Melt and regular readers of our blog will know, we’ve announced the lucky winner of our first #acandleisnotjustforchristmas competition! Our special Valentine’s Day hamper, chock full of gorgeous handmade candles and luxury reed diffusers, went to Mrs Diane Darby.
We loved Diane’s competition entry – it was original, moving and evoked some really vivid memories from a time when her children were growing up:
“Wet leaves , acorns under your feet, smoke in the air from burning leaves. Laughter as my children watch the squirrels, and fill their bags with cones. Damp and muddy but happy in the knowledge they are helping to create the Christmas decorations while I’m creating memories. Returning home, waiting for the cones to dry out before turning the kitchen table into our creative haven.
“My children have all grown up but do exactly the same with their own families. A picture can paint a thousand words but fragrance stimulates the senses from which we feel: there’s nothing like it.”
We completely agree! A bit part of the reason we love creating scented candles and reed diffusers for our customers is because we know how fragrance can transform a house into a home.
The scent of a family home is warm, reassuring and something that we never forget – even after years and years. At Melt, we adore the fact that our luxury scented candles, made with only the best quality essential oils, will be the defining fragrance for so many homes.
The lovely Diane was thrilled to be chosen as our first #acandleisnotjustforchristmas winner, saying:

We only wish our candles were available on prescription, Diane! We think they’re just what the doctor ordered 😉
