From Chatting To Cha-Cha-Cha: A Perfect Romantic Evening

from chatting to cha cha cha a perfect romantic evening

With only a little while to go until Valentine’s Day, it’s not long when you’re planning the perfect night for you and your man. We had a few ideas for how to do so in last week’s blog, but we just had to share a few more!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

It might not be the first option that springs to mind, but if you’ve been together a while it can be wonderful to remember some of the highlights of your relationship. The obvious candidates to help out are old photo albums, but with the advent of social media it’s possible that those are slightly dated! Still, there’s no reason you can’t print them out, or just enjoy them on a screen. Maybe there are other things that brought you together – you can listen to some of your favourite music, get nostalgic over a shared favourite film. If you’re craftily inclined, in the run up to February 14th you can make a calendar, collage or other collection of shared memories.

On the other hand, you can always just sit, talk and reminisce together. Sounds simple, but we think it’s particularly underrated, especially today. Lots of the contemporary commercialism around Valentine’s Day is centred around massive, sensational gestures and presents that demonstrate your love for each other. But that’s not a requirement. The day isn’t about who can buy the biggest present, it’s about celebrating each other, and celebrating your relationship.

Obviously, our brand of commercialism is the exception – we’re all about celebrating your relationship! (Phew, almost talked ourselves into a corner there.) Our Love and More candles are both beautiful accompaniments to such an evening. They’re sweet but uncomplicated, soulful but not distracting, creating a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere for you and your man to enjoy each other’s company.

Private Dancing

We know what you’re thinking, and we’re not talking about that kind! We’re talking some slow, close dancing to some Peter Gabriel or Rod Stewart – just our suggestions. (You might want to watch timings if you’re planning a romantic meal together, as you won’t want to be doing too much swaying on a full stomach). On the other hand, if Rod Stewart isn’t your bag, you can practice your salsa moves for something a bit more energetic. If you’re not too confident, improvise! It’s not about skill, and you’re not being marked out of ten. It’s about having fun together, so just focus on each other. Besides, in most of this sort of dancing a man leads anyway, so if it goes wrong just remember he’s duty-bound to take at least some of the blame; out of chivalry if nothing else!

We’ve got a keen little dancer ourselves – her name is simply Dance, and she’s a hot house flower bursting full of floral scents. She’s fun, lively, and a delightful accompaniment to the music.

Of course, it’s always possible that dancing isn’t your style. If that’s the case, don’t worry! We’ve still got a whole range of luxury scented candles for you – however you want to spend Valentine’s Day, we’ve got the candle for you. Don’t forget, if you have any questions or want any advice you can always call us on 01200 443377 – we’re only too happy to help out!
