We’ve had a wonderfully long and warm summer this year – so much so, that autumn has rather crept up on us! It’s fair to say that for many people, summer is their favourite season, but there’s lots to love about autumn, too. For starters, it’s served as perfect inspiration for some of our beautiful handmade scented candles…!
Autumn
We might as well start with the obvious choice! Our Autumn scented candle represents a number of very special things to us here at Melt, one of which is the sheer beauty of our natural surroundings right here in the Ribble Valley. Most people visit in the summer, when it takes on a wonderful sense of warmth and life, but witnessing that warmth give way to of autumn is truly entrancing, too!
Golden leaves falling from branches, the crack of twigs underfoot and the slight chill of an early sunset – they’re all aspects we absolutely love about Autumn, and our Autumn scented candle is our attempt to embody them! Autumn bridges the gap between seasons perfectly, with the freshness of the vanilla and orange scents becoming remnants of the summer just gone, blended beautifully with the warming cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and spices, representing the winter on the way.
Aubergine
Aubergine is our effort at recreating another part of the classic Autumn colour palette – that of the deep, rich colours of the hedges, berries and fruit. In essence, we’ve created Aubergine to be another beautifully sensory experience, like a sip of mulled wine on a chilly evening, with a wonderful floral twist. Amongst its complex mix of ingredients is cinnamon and clove – which it shares with our Autumn handmade candle – blended with amber, cedar, musk, rose, and just a hint of mandarin for a final flourish. It’s really quite something.
Recherché
You’ll probably have guessed by now that if you love Aubergine, you’ll adore Autumn, and vice versa. Recherché offers something a little more different. It has all the beauty and complexity of the first two, but with its own distinct feel. It evokes the sense of fine, dry woods that are such a defining feature of this time of year, with its ingredients including rose on a base of cedarwood, sandalwood and musk. It’s finished with a hint of Galbanum, an aromatic resin that gives it a sensually elegant scent that we can’t get enough of! We hope you’ll love it just as much as we do…
