We were thrilled to recently be interviewed by The Rox Media for their upcoming programme, the Great British Guide to the Ribble Valley. Presented by the golden-voiced Simon Entwistle, the programme aims to put a spotlight on the Ribble Valley, highlighting its beautiful scenery, picturesque towns and thriving culture. One part of this mission involves exploring the stories behind some of the local businesses – one of which is us!
Melt’s Part On The Programme
We were first approached by researchers for the programme when they were carrying out their initial research into the area, choosing their locations and selecting local businesses to be interviewed. As you can imagine, we were very excited – especially when Simon himself popped into our luxury shop on the farm!
He wasted no time in getting down to brass tacks, talking to staff members Cheryl and Trevor about the story behind our brand, including how it all began all those years ago. They went on to explore how Melt evolved over the years to gain its present reputation of trust, quality, and flawless customer service.
We even took The Rox Media team for a mini-tour round our luxury gift shop and workshop, and filled them in on how we’ve become an international name too. But Simon and The Rox Media guys weren’t done yet – they also talked to a few of our customers, to get your opinion on what you love most about Melt.
The Programme’s Focus: The Stunning Ribble Valley
We’re very proud of the fact that the Ribble Valley has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. With rolling, majestic fells and sprawling moorland, this vibrant natural landscape is truly a spectacular view in the spring and summer. If you asked someone abroad to picture a classic British countryside, they’d probably imagine something very much like the Ribble Valley. We think it’s no wonder that The Rox Media have chosen to highlight the location.
As you’ll know if you’ve spent a bit of time on our website or on any of our social media, the Ribble Valley is not just a location for us; it’s home. We’ve always been country bumpkins here at Melt. Since 2001 our brand identity has been very closely tied to the Ribble Valley, and its stunning natural beauty is a constant source of inspiration for us. We work hard to source all our materials locally, too; over 90% of our ingredients and packaging comes from Lancashire businesses.
Actually, to be honest Cheryl herself has probably said it best:
“We were easily persuaded to take part in the programme as we’re such big advocates of the Ribble Valley and all she has to offer. We know we live in a special area which has great tourist appeal, a countryside that’s a wonderful area of natural beauty, great pubs and inns and fantastic places to visit and eat. Our commute is down narrow country lanes which predict and follow the seasons, and it’s a pleasure to live and work here for all of us.”
Keep an eye on The Rox Media’s YouTube channel, the snappily-named Whamgle, for when our segment is uploaded. We’ve got no concrete date as yet but if you’re worried about missing it, don’t worry – we’ll make sure to display a link from our own social media channels when it appears!
In the meantime, feel free to browse our range of spectacular luxury scented candles. We’ve got a broad array of beautiful scents on display; you’re sure to find one that suits you! Don’t forget, if you want to experience them in person you can always pop into our luxury shop on the farm. We’d love to see you!
